I wish there had been something like this available forty
years ago; it would have saved me a lot of time. Everything you need to know is there and
Jerry's explanations are crystal clear. Even if you think you already know it all you
should check it out. You may find some pleasant surprises. I can't recommend it highly
enough. I even gave a copy to my son. The definitive harp instruction. The most precise and articulate instructions imaginable. By far the best instruction for blues harp ever done. Jerry is one of my all-time favorite players and a teacher
without peer. His "Masterclass" is a masterpiece of eloquent instruction,
extremely useful for players of all levels. What we have here is actually a real rarity; a product that
actually is worth far more than its cost to the consumer... No one has ever given as much
detail or explicit, concise instructions as Portnoy does in this 3-CD/51 page booklet
instructional package... The book alone contains enough valuable insight and information
to make all the other "how to" products on the market pale in comparison...
Nothing is missed... it is head and shoulders above any other harmonica instruction kit on
the market today... the best in the business. This is the best-conceived, best-packaged blues harmonica
instruction series on the market today, bar none... the clarity of Portnoy's explanations
is exquisite. Anyone who dutifully works through these lessons will find their playing
immensely improved. The concluding remarks alone are worth a dozen lessons... Anyone who
works through these lessons will have learned to hear the subtle nuances that separate a
master from a good amateur. Jerry Portnoy's Blues Harmonic Masterclass is
unreservedly recommended. In his introductory comments, Jerry Portnoy provides us with
a guiding philosophy: "Music is about communicating." And communicate is exactly
what Portnoy does on this three-compact-disk Masterclass. Clear, concise and
to-the-point, with no extraneous materials to confuse the goal of the serious student,
this is undoubtedly one of the finest examples of form fitting function... Portnoy has
raised the level of quality to which anybody who makes musical instructional materials
needs to aspire. As a player of almost 20 years, I find your Masterclass
unparalleled by any instructional material I have ever used. It is clearly a superior
